I M VERY HAPPY THESE DAYS i dont know why or for how much time but i m . well got some hint fm a serial on BBC abt happiness
as i said earlier hard work is the key to happiness but then i have seen thts not the only key! then?
well i m happy becoz i have reduced expectations , reading gd books and socializing with frnds and most imp i m behaving wht i m
socializing is very imp to be happy as per tht serial and i think tht is rt with our thirst for success and money we r copying western culture and move out for family and social circle and many times we feel gud initially new frnds , freedom and do whatever we want but western culture has made us copy cats and materialistic . we keep running behind them ass soon as we get them something new comes up! be it car great mobile.i also feel if i take a gd music player i will be more happy but then it will change to laptop then something else and the list will never end........
people continuously smile and talk goody with outsiders who can be of some use to them but with family they feel bored restricted.nobody trusts each other and restrict them selves to only person of some use!!!
we drive to seek pleasure in every thing we do every action we take. but it just give us momentary pleasure but never true happiness becoz pleasure is short lived and never lasting.
in Bhutan country's progress is measured not by their GDP but GDS that is gross domestic happiness and they do everything for that instead of increasing the output of any commercial gd its first decided is it really required? even the TV was introduced very late . and the survey done by BBC shows devastating effect on general public there . not only the rate of crimes increased many fold but also the morality related crimes started coming for the first time in their history social fabric started breaking leading to unhappiness and as told by program!! Govt replied by putting restriction on all channels except news, nat geo and other information related channels.MTV and other "timepasss"channels became a strict noooo. and soon there was a remarkable progress!!!!!!!well there is a some logic in it i experienced personally. we used to enjoy doordarshan programs, though only few. we used to wait for them eagerly and a power cut was a really bad turn off . but now only thing i do now is keep surfing for 1 hour and after finding nothing really interesting stop at nat geo or history. sooooo there is defintely some need for some introspection for our country and lets see till how much time my happiness ends??:)

Hmm intresting post. Sochne wali baat to hai. Bilkul hai. Benig haapy is difficult. Its good that you see BCC so carefully and even more good that you quote facts from authentic sources. sometimes i see a jouro in you.

Happiness is a abstract idea. If we look at the literature and films made before 2nd world war...we observe a common thing. That is- voilence, hunger..crisis of food, water and strong uncertainity. writers wrote about that pain numerous films were made.

Then after the 2nd worls war phase...people thought-now the voilence and uncertainity has decreased. We have food, water, clothes, jobs and else. Then ,,why are we not happy? or why are we pretending to be happy?
This introduced the EXISTENTIALISTIC FORM in writing and gave us films made by people like bergnman and literarute written by people like nirmal verma, camus and samuel beckett, pamuk and coetzee. The literature of post 2nd world war world reflects present times and the crisis that a lonely individual faces. It tells us that we are basicaly incomplete and satisfaction ....sometimes..remains just an idea. Keep on thinking apoorv..It helps us to understand.
